Mangalamkunnu Karnan is one of the famous elephants in Kerala. Mangalamkunnu karnan has won gajapattam including gajarajan, gajakesari, ulakanaayakan, ithihaasa chakravarthi, nilavinte thamburan, thalayedupinte thalathottappan etc.. mangalamkunnu karnan is the taken to Kerala from bihar by manissery Hari to mannissery, then he is taken to mangalamkunnu, palakkad and later he called as mangalamkunnu karnan. He is 298 cm high. An elegant elephant endowed with most of the features described in 'Madangaleela'. He has a great demand for 'ezhunnallippu'. Mangalamkunnu Karnan is famous for his Nilavu (Head lifting). He is the only appropriate competitor for Thechikottukaavu Ramachandran. He is from Varanasi. Karnan is also well known for his good behaviour.
