Everyone hated the electric guitar, bass, and drums when they first came out. I know there have been a lot of electronic wind instruments through time that just sound like a cheap toy keyboard. Yamaha's YDS-150 is a different animal, and all educators should keep their eye on it.

There is a demonstration of my band's Sax section passing around the YDS150, but this also is a discussion of why a new product like this shouldn't be immediately thrown to the side. It could benefit the right program or the right student.
