long version of title: 20 minutes of uninterrupted parkour gameplay no fails with sildurs vibrant shaders on an amplified minecraft world seed with beautiful and scary scenery and also giant mob builds that are cool i guess

very proud of this big project. i am a huge parkour guy so building one was very enjoyable and hopefully the gameplay isn't too headache inducing. enjoy! :D

there are 2 cuts in the parkour gameplay. comment below if you find them!

shaders: sildurs vibrant
version: 1.19.2

LOTS OF YAPPERY BELOW BEWARE!!!!
started this in the summer of 2023. think i spent a total of 30 hours making this? originally this was going to be like 5 minutes long and i wanted to use this as my "starting soon" screen for livestreaming as it would start and end at the starting spot, thus making it a loop, but i thought 5 minutes was too short so i wanted to quadruple the length. little did i know the amount of parkour building i would have to do to reach the 20 minute mark. it was definitely a journey though, literally. i am very proud of the end result and am even more proud of some of the mob builds i made around the map, which was totally an accidental thing as it was a very last minute decision of mine to do, but i don't regret it. some other behind the scenes stuff:
i originally wanted the parkour to end where i started, where the course would start going back in the direction of the starting point under the ocean and there would be a cool underwater parkour section where you go through a glass-pipe (like that one part in koopa falls in mario kart wii), but i ultimately decided against it after finding out how far i was from the ocean
the 5 minute parkour version had a very fun sequence of slime jumps that i wanted to include in the 20-minute (this) one but i couldn't figure out a good way to put it in
the giant allay build at the beginning took SO long to do the wings. i didn't actually build it from scratch i used worldedit lol. i basically made the wings as a flat template and then used worldedit tools to try rotating it to what it is now, but apparently worldedit isn't good at rotating stuff that's not a multiple of 90 so i had to manually fix some of the weirdness. also it wouldn't copy properly on the other side so i had to somehow match the manual fixes of one wing onto another and i didn't do too well on it. very proud of the result though and hope you understand why you see the same allay build at the very end of the parkour hehe
the trophy i'm holding at 7:25 was supposed to be 3d but i got lazy so it just looks super weird but whatever. i do like seeing my skin at a gigantic size though it looks cool :)
yes the wolf build at 10:40 looks super wonky and i spent an hour trying to fix it but i couldn't figure out how so enjoy best attempt at making it look natural
the ancient city parkour section was entirely incidental. i originally planned for an underground cave-like parkour section (the section going down to the city was a man-made cave) but accidentally stumbled upon the giant ancient city so i decided to just use that as part of my parkour run. it definitely enhanced the whole thing by a ton and i wonder what the project would've looked like otherwise had it not been for the accidental ancient city encounter
i did not realize that snow biomes at 16:50 would make my shaders pack show auroras it is SO COOL omg
also the section from 17:30 to 18:10 was supposed to be all ice, and it was originally super difficult and unoptimized for gameplay and i spent two hours trying to make it easier for me to do but it just didn't work. it was one of those "too late to turn back" moments that stopped me from getting rid of it entirely but i eventually gave in and just made it regular grass blocks which is a shame because i wasted a lot of time making that section only to get rid of it.
also i lied the actual parkour length is like 19 minutes and 54 seconds or something not 20 minutes but PLS CUT ME SOME SLACK no hate pls ;-;---;-;-;-;
the “other stuff” i was referring in the reloading was because there was a glowstone pillar at some point that i forgot to remove so i wanted to get rid of that lol, but i decided to tweak some other bits of the parkour to try to reach the 20 minute mark and i still failed :( also i failed the final jump of the parkour and i will never forgive myself for that
