For many decades, the mounted police of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, has been patrolling the city with grey horses. Seargant Kelly-Anne Taylor-Wilson told us the mounted operation units, established in 1838, have been working with grey horses because of their high visibility. After years of good training, the horses are able to help the police in crowd protests and civil disorder situations. All the horses are well cared for, well looked after and live a long life in comfort, during as well as after policing.
