Wellnest Natural Farms (WNF) is situated at Vengalraju Kuppam, near Chitoor, Andhra Pradesh. We started our farming activity about six years ago, in the year 2013-14. When we bought the land the previous owners were following traditional farming practices, which involved tilling, using fertilizers and chemicals to maintain the farm. The condition of the land, the health of the trees and plants were not in a good state and looked neglected. Our immediate challenge was to save the trees from dying and nourish them properly. We concentrated on improving the fertility of the soil and thereby improve the health of the plants. We were eager to shift to alternate methods of farming in order to produce naturally grown fruits and vegetables because we observed the following three important aspects..
1.The rapid deterioration of our soil and natural environment;
2.The continuing impoverishment of our rural population; and

The apathy of the privileged urban classes, not able to get “chemical-free” food.
.

Why we shifted to Vedic Farming – Rishi Kheti – Natural Farming?
.
We thought It was an urgent need in the current world situation because most food produced today is heavily loaded with pesticides, hormones, and other chemicals that are heavily toxic to humans and nature. On top of that, preservatives and other chemicals added to food sold in stores make store-bought food even more toxic. We wanted to make an honest and sincere attempt to produce “Chemical-free” food for our own internal consumption and also make them available to society at large.
