In June 2019 the show Untamed became the most-watched series
in Asian television history.

It had over 10 billion views and as of today, it has over 79 billion views across all platforms.

The untamed is the first Chinese drama series to beat out Korean dramas
oversea in terms of viewership and the story is basically a fantasy tale with romance or "bromance" in the center.

BL or "boys love" is a genre that I discovered recently that mostly caters to a female audience who romanticizes about two men falling in love with each other.

I believe that BL dramas could have been what Kpop was for South Korea
which brought the country $8 billion in 2022 and potentially much more in the future.

Most importantly I believe that BL and other subgenres if they were to freely evolve in China could have been a great source of soft power
for the country.
