Did the first game of AFL in Melbourne get its inspiration from the Aboriginal game of Marn Grook?

Nestled at the foot of Victoria's Grampian ranges, the town of Moyston is known for two things: pumas and football.

The first comes from a widely-debunked rumour a puma inhabits the town's hilly mountain regions.

The second from ancient stories the local Djab Wurrung community have handed down from generation-to-generation.

And the Indigenous elders who shared that story say it’s about time the AFL recognises Moyston as the true birthplace of AFL football.
