Cavoli, a 35-year career Army officer, assumed duties as Commander, U.S. European Command, and as the Supreme Allied Commander Europe in July 2022.

Cavoli, a member of Princeton's Class of 1987, participated in Princeton ROTC and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He received the Woodrow Wilson Award in 2023.
