A look at some hands involving choosing the best option. (Sorry my camera was not working just now!)

The hands can replayed using these links:
Hand 19: About half did not make 12 tricks. This was one of the more straightforward hands. 1n 6H or 6NT, you have 10 top tricks, but should set up 2 more in diamonds
https://tinyurl.com/bdcs32cy (This is how it was played – better to start with A or QH)

Hand 23: 4H+1 should have been the result but only 4 declarers made 11 tricks (similar to hand 2). POLL 1 What to discard on your good diamonds?

Played correctly https://tinyurl.com/z3devrmn

www.tinyurl.com/yb9eusde (Ruffing after the defence has ruffed). West has a trump holding where he may gain a trick if partner ruffs the 3rd diamond. If declarer ruffs this low, he will be overruffed. If he ruffs high he may lose a trump trick. The best solution is to discard a likely spade loser. (Interestingly GIB finds you can still make the contract, even if you ruff high). POLL 2 What should declarer play at trick 3 – Ruff High or discard a club or a spade

Best option - https://tinyurl.com/2fyrgqfe POLL 3 what should declarer play from dummy at trick 3

There are finesses to try in spades and diamonds. Which should you try first? POLL 4 At trick 4 all the trumps have gone. What should you play from dummy? Spade/Heart/Low D/QD/A club? Played wrongly https://tinyurl.com/26jv6da3

Played correctly. https://tinyurl.com/2b99z8s5
