11th grader Miranda Minton performed this at the North Hollywood High School Talent Show in Los Angeles, California on December 20, 2019. She changed the lyrics from the beautiful and brilliant David Foster and Linda Thompson-Jenner song " My Grown-Up Christmas List" to express a teenager's Christmas Wish List for her times. Five ears later it is still as true.

Here are the lyrics to "My Teenage Christmas List":

Do you remember me. I sat upon your knee.
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies.
Well those are all gone now and I need help somehow.
I'm not a child but my heart still can dream.
So here's my desperate wish, my teenage Christmas list,
All of us teens are more than what we seem.

No more unnecessary tests, that we could get some rest,
and get rid of all this stress.
And everyone would get an "A", and college costs be paid,
And life be more than grades.
Oh, this is my teenage Christmas list.

Younger we believed, the grandest sight to see
was something lovely wrapped beneath the tree.
Well everybody knows, that packages and bows,
can never replace stolen childhood.

No more shootings at our schools, no privilege for the few and good careers in view.
Everyone would have a home, and connection without phones,
and no one feels alone.
This is my teenage Christmas list.

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth.
Though we may be young that doesn’t mean we don’t know the truth.

No more future we have to save, and walls would not be made,
and no fear of climate change.
And everyone would want to live. No injustice to forgive.
Give us the life we’re meant to live.
This is our teenage Christmas list--
This is the dream that we all wish--
This is my teenage Christmas list.
