Kat Vada Recipe with Misal
Serves 5 - 6 persons
Cooking Time 45 mins
Ingredients:
3 Tbsp Groundnut Oil
1/4 Cup Ginger
1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Tbsp Fennel Seeds
2 Tbsp Coriander Seeds
1 Tsp Black Pepper
Cinnamon Stick
Javitri
2 Black Cardamom
2 Green Cardamom
2 Tbsps Dry Fenugreek Leaves
2 Tbsp Poppy seeds
3 Onions Sliced
4 Bay Leaves
2 Tbsp Besan
Misal/Kat Making
5 Tbsp Groundnut Oil
1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Tsp Fennel Seeds
Few black pepper
Bay Leaves
Dry Fenugreek Leaves
Cook and make Paste as
Few curry Leaves
2 Tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
2 Big Onions Finely Chopped
1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tsp Salt or as per Taste
1 Tsp Ginger Paste
1 Cup Sprouted Moth
6 cup water
Handful of Coriander Leaves
1 Tbsp Maharashtrian Garam Masala/Kala Masala
Vada Making
1 Piece Ginger
4 Green chillies
10 Garlic Cloves
1/2 Kg Boiled Potatoes
2 Tbsps Oil
1/2 Tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
Pich of Asafoetida
Add Crushed garlic ginger and Chilli
Handful Of curry Leaves
2 Pinches Turmeric Powder
Add Masala to mashed potatoes
Handful of Coriander Leaves
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp lemon Juice
Make balls as explained in video
3 Cups Medium Thick Besan
3 Tbsp Rice Flour
1 Cup + 1/4 Cup Water
Add salt, red chilli powder, Ajwain, Asafoetida and Turmeric Powder
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
Fry the Vada balls in chickpea batter
