In order to actually escape unlimited tax liability in Germany, you must leave Germany and no longer have a residence in Germany. No ifs and buts.

In this video, we present a ruling by the Federal Fiscal Court, in which the court ruled in the last instance that you can be fully liable for tax in Germany even if the center of your life has clearly been established abroad (family has moved with you, etc.).

This risk exists if you still have a home in Germany that is available for your use, even if you only use it occasionally.
