Tina Penny, a volunteer rescue / transport of wildlife, including birds of prey, gathered a small group of us to help rescue a baby owl that had fallen or was pushed, out of the nest. The goal was to put the baby owl back into the nest, however, a makeshift nest was created and securely put under the main nest, where it will remain until the owlet fledges. The reason for this was due to the mama laying her eggs in what appeared to be a magpie nest, which is way too small for owls. As as result, there were 3 owlets , forcing 2 of the 3 babies out. We rescued the 2nd one, as the 3rd did not survive.

Thank you, also, to Bea and Jim Harrison, who joined us, from the Audubon Society.

**If you or someone you know, find an injured bird of prey, please contact your local fish and wildlife department, immediately. Do not try to pick it up, but wait by it until help arrives. You can also reach out to www.ahnow.org and put in the zip code. It will pull up the nearest rehabbers.**
