This year had us thinking about all the local festivals which take place all over Lanarkshire, and how we wouldn't get to experience them last year and maybe this year too. So we decided to investigate their history and origins using the library and wider collections to see if there were some quirky stories which show off our local flair. This one is a fun look at the East Kilbride Cattle Show and Gymkhana, tracing back it’s really quite old origins, why it is special, and a few farcical wee stories to make you giggle.
