I extended the length of the stock antenna for the key FOB receiver module on my 2008 Toyota Tundra double cab. This let me put the antenna up higher and away from the metal walls of the cab. Key FOB range is very poor on most 2nd gen Tundras (lots of comments in the forums). I extended the range from about 10 yards (consistent working) to 76 yards. This is especially helpful since I added a remote start module (12Vsolutions) to my truck. I can now remote start at considerable distances from my truck using the stock FOB. Adding length to your receiver antenna may help with any vehicle that has the module down low and surrounded by metal.
