Pedestal table inset nut stripped out its housing. This video shows an easy fix. Includes a trick for using a spade bit on a pre drilled hole ~1:28.

I guess we could have taken it back to Costco...that would have been the easiest fix, but a boring video.

Basics:
drill out damaged wood
fill with glue and oak dowel
re-drill nut hole
re-set nut

I believe this is the basic idea behind filling cavities too. Very effective.
