Edge VS 420 dual shaft shredder shredding green waste and logs. The owner of the facility suffered a 6 figure repair on his grinder after hitting a massive piece of metal. The VS 420 was brought in for a demo to test how it'd do in place of a traditional grinder. Shredders are designed for contaminated material and since it's slow speed, they don't suffer catastrophic damage the way a normal grinder does. Furthermore, the cross belt magnet pulls almost all significant metal out before it makes it into the pile to be further processed.
Because the material is shred vs ground, the dirt is not as mixed in and coated all over the wood. That means for this operation they can pull more of the dirt out since they screen the grindings/shred material next resulting in cleaner wood and better coloring results.
