Route 149 runs from Shimizu Port in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture (Hagoromo Bridge, north side) to in front of Shimizu Station, and is one of the so-called port national highways.

Route 150 runs from Shimizu Port in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture (Hagoromo Bridge, north side) to Naka Ward, Hamamatsu City, via Yaizu City, Makinohara City, and Omaezaki City, along Suruga Bay and the Sea of Enshū.

The road runs so close to the coast that the waves lapping against the breakwater can be seen in the Suruga Ward area of Shizuoka City.
Along the route, there is a roadside station, Kaze no Marche Omaezaki, and the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant.
