Day two in Ethiopia brought unexpected challenges as I navigated through language barriers while attempting to communicate with the locals, most of whom spoke Amharic, a language unfamiliar to me. Despite this initial hurdle, the day unfolded into a delightful adventure filled with enriching experiences.

Exploring three distinct areas—Meskel Square, the Mexico area, and the bustling Merkato market, reputed as the largest open-air market in Africa—offered a glimpse into the vibrant soul of Addis Ababa.

While cautioned about safety concerns in the Mexico area, I ventured forth with curiosity and found warmth and hospitality in the locals, who generously shared insights and directions, dispelling any apprehensions I may have had.

The ambiance at Merkato Market was equally inviting, with friendly faces eager to connect despite the language barrier that occasionally hindered our communication.
