In this video I will demonstrate for those of you who do not have access to or do not wish to purchase a tenon cutter how to cut a perfectly shaped tenon using a drill, holesaw, and a drawknife.

While I do personally use a tenon cutter myself on the majority of the furniture I build, I do use this method for an upsell option for my customers as some prefer the look of hand cut tenons over tenons created with a tenon cutter.

The biggest thing I can stress with this method is to make sure your drawknife is nice and sharp, a dull drawknife will make your arms feel like you've done 20 tenons after doing two. I will do a video in the near future about how I sharpened my drawknives.

I would also like to take a moment to tell you that the awesome people over at www.lumberjacktools.com are sending me one of their 10" Draw Knives and also their Commercial Series Beginners Kit to test out and do a review on. I'm particularly excited to try out the drawknife as it looks like it is very high quality.

So stay tuned for these and more future videos. Be sure to subscribe and be safe.
