Camping with the family means… good food w/ good company. YES we eat good because that’s just how we roll. We usually have relatives from across the states join us which means more people & more food. Cooking breakfast/lunch & dinner is usually split amongst every family member during our 3 day camp out. We’re usually pretty good at planning out our menu and making sure everyone who is responsible for that morning/night makes it happen. Which also means we get a variety of different dishes! Yeah! 😎

Because we’ve been camping for so many years now, we’re all pretty well organized and prepared in bringing all the essential utensils/items to make it all happen. My uncle & aunty are also pros at finding campsites that fits all of us & has all the facilities that we need to make it all happen. So thank you uncle & aunty! LOCATION of our campsite is secret. Sorry I can't share due to my uncle & aunty secret spot :)

If you were curious how many people were camping, there were at least 50+ of us. I have a big family. 😄

Here’s a list of the dishes we made:
Stir fry Kielbasa with rice & steamed vegetable
Chicken coconut vermicelli noodles (Qhaub Poob)
Breakfast burrito
Hmong sausage with rice and steamed vegetables
Bbq crab shell innards w/ spicy herb sauce
Boiled herbed butter red rock crab
Stir fry chili bamboo with chicken
Boiled chicken with sour bamboo
Kimchi fried rice
Bacon with cabbage stir fry
Fruit
Purple sticky rice
Papaya salad
Steak salad
Stir fry shrimp
Chicken tofu soup

What do you like to cook when you go camping??

About Cindy

My Name is Cindy Her, I am a full time Pastry Chef in the Pacific Northwest and part time food content creator for C.HerCreations (C.HawjCreations). I specifically focus on Hmong food I grew up eating but I also venture into other South East Asian food as well.As a second generation Hmong American woman, my goal is to teach you what Hmong people love to eat, what we cook, how we cook it, how it has evolved, and how we enjoy it. I want you to learn a little bit more about the Hmong food culture and I hope you all stay tuned on this culinary adventure with me. As always, happy cooking :)
