The stranger is a U.S. Army veteran who used to be stationed at Fort Riggs. He tells the player that a lot of Native Americans were suppressed and held in captivity in the Fort. He also states the U.S. Army ended up killing a lot of Indians in the Fort.

The geography and layout of the location bears resemblance to the Lakota encampment at Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota that would become the site of the Wounded Knee Massacre, in which the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment massacred over 250 Hunkpapa and Miniconjou Lakota people.
