Kerala is famous for its many healers and ayurvedic resorts. Even an international tourist hub for Westerners like the beach paradise of Varkala offers a wide quality selection for health and wellness. When we arrived in Varkala last December, I hadn't been physically or mentally well for a very long time. While most other tourists were in a party mood for the New Year's, for me a week in the ocean, practising yoga and ayurvedic treatments were just what was needed for healing.
