Tragedy struck Florida State University early on the morning of November 20, 2014. A gunman opened fire at Strozier Library as hundreds of Florida State students were studying for final exams. Three were injured, one critically, but Florida State and Tallahassee first responders prevented even greater tragedy with their quick and professional actions. Later that day, students, faculty and staff came together at the Student Government Association's Gathering of Unity to demonstrate the unconquered spirit of the entire Florida State University community and to offer care and support to all.
