Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬-‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”

WHY THE DEVIL IS AGAINST THE ASSEMBLY

5. The devil is directly rebuked in assemblies.

Don’t be deceived at all, the devil can never handle God’s presence. The power of God is way beyond whatever the devil will ever do. In the presence of the assembly, he is rebuked. There is power when there is an assembly. You might not even know you have demons. Because they may never manifest like others do but they could be there. Demons of pride, rebellion, disrespect, rejection, sexual immortality, so many and in the presence of an assembly, they are attacked directly, you might not even know they have left you until people start telling you that you are more obedient, more humble, you don’t quarrel these days. And if you were addicted to drugs or porn or any other addiction like me. You quickly realize how you don’t have interest in those things anymore and you have not engaged with them in a while. Personally, I don’t remember when I stopped watching porn, but I realized when it had been like months coming from one who used to engage daily, alcohol stopped pleasing me, it began to taste weird for me, even wine became funny in my mouth so I had to stop. As for smoking one day I was on the lake side with a couple of friends and I couldn’t finish a blunt from one who used to smoke a box. The demons had left and my friends were in utter shock. Never gone back but this was because besides all that was going on in my life, I always went to the assemblies and the power was present to rebuke those demons directly. Don’t isolate yourself when you are in tough times, keep coming !!! The presence of God is able to heal you. Never underestimate the power of the assembly.
