The Rolling Stones have long been fans of the saxophone. There are, at one count, 16 sax solos. And this video, shot in Santa Monica, ranks them all -- from best to worst. (Someone had to.) We'll also look at SAX HISTORY. Rock'n'roll's roots have been linked to the sax since Ike Turner and the Kings of Rhythm recorded "Rocket 88" -- a sax-heavy song sung and WRITTEN by a saxophonist -- in 1951. The Stones' most famous sax solo ("Brown Sugar") is truly not its best. Apologies in advance for where it ranks.

All music is fair use in this review of Rolling Stones music. The goal, as always, is to spread the love and joy and value of Rolling Stones music.
