Shark wheels are a wheel which utilize a wave pattern, and a shape which effectively a stack of 3 contact patches by means of grooves.

The idea is that the particular shape increases rolling speed, and provides excellent contact with the road.
So far, it seems to generally deliver upon that, within certain conditions.

Because the grooves in the wheel are not particularly deep, these wheels would not be good for sliding. The features which make the wheel unique will simply wear away.
