In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Russian Empire had colonies in Alaska, California, and even the Hawaiian Islands. However, overseas rule turned out to be very ineffective, short-lived and unprofitable. Why did the Russians invade America, what was their policy towards the indigenous population, for how much and to whom did the empire sell its colonies and what role did the Ukrainians play in this story - we tell in the video, the topic of which was chosen by the patrons of our channel.
