Recently, you've probably heard about the supposed "drone ban" that is being restricted by the US Government. However, it isn't a done deal yet, and a lot still has to happen before the bill comes to fruition.

The proposed act, called the Countering CCP Drones Act, aims to ban the import of Chinese drones into America, citing the concern that China may be using these drones to gather data. The bill, which had bipartisan support, recently passed the House and will now head to the Senate. It will likely sit here for a few weeks and, if passed, will then land on President Biden's desk for approval.

As the bill stands now, even if it passes, any current DJI drones in the United States will not be affected. Your drone will still work, fly, and operate as normal. The bill only prevents the import of new Chinese-made drones in the United States, at least legally. This would open the door for an American company to expand the drone market, though the drones would likely come at a much higher price than their Chinese counterpart.

What do you think of the government's attempt to ban Chinese-made drones from import?
