Rúguǒ nǐ gàosù yí ge Zhōngguó pényou,
如果你告诉一个中国朋友，
If you tell a Chinese friend that

nǐ gǎnmào le,
你感冒了，
you get a cold,

tā hěn kěnéng huì jiànyì nǐ duō hē rè shuǐ;
他很可能会建议你多喝热水；
he will probably advise you to drink more hot water；

Rúguǒ nǐ gàosù yí ge Zhōngguó péngyou,
如果你告诉一个中国朋友，
If you tell a Chinese friend that

nǐ dùzi téng,
你肚子疼，
you have a stomach ache,

tā háishì huì jiànyì nǐ duō hē rè shuǐ.
他还是会建议你多喝热水。
he will still advise you to drink more hot water.

Zhōngguó rén zuì xǐhuan de yǐnliào bú shì píjiǔ,
中国人最喜欢的饮料不是啤酒，
Chinese favorite drink is not beer

yě bú shì kělè,
也不是可乐，
or coke,

ér shì rè shuǐ.
而是热水。
but hot water.

Hěn duō wàiguó rén juéde qíguài,
