Installed Exile Autoworx solid shifter bushing kit and an Ebay Megan short shifter on our 2002 Mazda Protege 5. This process should be similar for most Mazda Protege's.

These bushings combined with a short shifter provided an overall a major change in the fun and feel of shifting gears!
