This is a quick guide that explains some of the mechanics that the tutorial of For Answer fails to - as well as touching on some multiplayer bugs that are very common.

Some things I forgot to mention:
Using Machine Guns in both arms will generate the same bug where you don't hit any shots on enemy screens. Use machine gun arms instead!

Holding down L3 disables your lock on. You don't ever want to do this.

Some generalizations were made about Quick Boost Chaining and Second Staging. If you would like to see an in depth video on either, here are some links to other community members who have already explained them in depth quite well:

Something I forgot to mention - holding down L3 disables your lock on. You don't ever want to do this.
