Finally Dice has made an attempt at addressing the SEVERE imbalance between the US Condor and Russian Mi240 Super Hind in Battlefield 2042 (bf2042) by 1) reducing the transition time between VTOL and Flight Mode; and 2) introducing the UH-60 Transport Helicopter. Finally, the US side no longer suffer the deficiencies of the Condor if they choose not to, and that is a HUGE win.

So now we've got the UH-60, is the Condor obsolete? Well, no. First, the Condor remains an excellent round opener, especially on the larger 128 player maps. It also has thick armour relative to the UH-60 and the benefit of the 50mm anti-vehicle cannon. The UH-60 has no utility against armoured vehicles. That said, the UH-60 is a snappy, highly responsive & agile aircraft which allows it to evade many incoming missiles when capturing objectives. But that being said, on the other side, the Condor as a few tricks especially against Nightbirds which the UH-60 doesn't.

Whilst it's great we've got the option and Dice is clearly still thinking about a few things for QoL until the next BF title hits us, I don't see these changes in any way close the gap on the Mi240 Super Hind. However, it's a little less wide than it was last week, so that's something!
