DIY mini boat build. This boat has been designed and build by me. The inspiration are the Dutch bakdekker type boats.

The video is a collection of build pictures. At the end 2 video's of the first test runs. The second boat is my sons boat. A video of his build will be on this channel.

The boat is not yet finished. The steering is a test setup. The current dash is just a mock-up.

Materials:
- Bottom 10mm hardwood ply, ( waterproof glue ).
- Sides and deck 4mm hardwood ply
- Glued with PU foaming glue, the most important parts are glued with fibre reinforced glue.
- Screws only where I thought it needed extra strength.
- 2 base coats of PU primer. Polyester filler. 3 coats of outdoor high gloss paint. The visible wood has - been coated with very strong paint for floors.

Other stuff
- 30Lbs electric outboard.
- 60AH tractor battery.
- PWM controller for the motor.
- Battery voltage indicator.
- Cut off outdoor chair.

Do not start about polyester please:
Boats do not need polyester to float, ask Columbus. In fact encapsulating wood with polyester is fine until water seeps in. And it will. If that happens it rots from the inside out.
Don't get me wrong, I love working with polyester, build my camper with the stuff.
