If you’ve been following me for some time, you know Fehmarn is an island in northern Germany that holds a special place in my heart. This is where my boyfriend Dennis and I met and fell in love. It’s also a beautiful beach destination, not far from Hamburg, where you can enjoy an amazing getaway from everyday stress.

Since Dennis and I got together, we have visited and stayed at Fehmarn many times. We know it well and are ready to share its secret spots with you. Are you ready to discover one of the most beautiful beach destinations in Germany?

7 am - Workout at the Beach
We started our day early to make the most of the beautiful sunshine and were met by my boyfriend's parents at the beach. The water was so calm, and the view was amazing. One of the perks of Northern Germany in the summer is the long daylight hours, so there's no excuse not to start your day early :)

9 am - Breakfast at Tuula
They have a wonderful selection, and great coffee (you know I love trying the best cafes everywhere), and the location is perfect. You can enjoy an amazing view of the boats and the water. And if you get too full, you can relax on one of the chairs and even turn them towards the sun. Aren't Germans so efficient? :) Don’t worry about the seagulls; they are just part of the "decoration." But keep an eye on your food just in case.

11 am - Visit Burg - "Kind of" Fehmarn’s Capital
It’s a small and quiet town, but there are lots of shops and cafes, and really everything you might need. I love good quality tea, so I couldn't resist visiting an awesome tea shop. Many shops focus on tourism, naturally, but the little houses and streets are so cute you won’t mind at all.

12:30 pm - Hof Cafe / Albertsdorf
Follow the cute garden decorations and, side note: You probably saw my Reels about the Fehmarn Kartoffeln Potato Stand that intrigued so many. Now you know the exact location. It’s really nice that Germans are so trustworthy and can have these systems in place. Let me know in the comments if there is something similar where you live.

Back to the Hof Cafe, it’s an awesome place to buy local products, including delicious and unique local cakes. Just be aware, if you’re like me, an expat in Germany, you might have different expectations about Eis Coffee; it’s not the same as iced coffee, ahahaha.

1:30 pm - Fehmarnsund Brücke
It’s a nice location to just enjoy nature and chill. Fehmarnsund Brücke is an iconic place here because it connects the island with mainland Germany. If you want a nice view and a quiet place to relax, this is a spot to hit for sure.

2:45 pm - Wake Park
I’m not into wakeboarding, but if you are, this place offers all the comfort you need to practice it. Otherwise, if you’re like me, just enjoy the pommes with truffle mayo while watching others wakeboard. It’s a different way to spend time outdoors but equally fun. Lots of people enjoy wakeboarding in Germany; there are places around Hamburg as well.

6:00 pm - Seaside BBQ
This is something you’ve got to love in Germany: how easy it is to find super nice BBQ spots. In this particular location in Fehmarn, if you’re lucky, you can even get a sitting area with your own BBQ ready to go. All you have to do is bring your own coal (and of course, food). Isn't that awesome? We got lucky and enjoyed a great dinner outside with a view of the sea.

8:00 pm - Chillaz
End the day with a cocktail at sunset by the water. Remember, sunsets in northern Germany happen quite late in the summer, so you can enjoy a few cocktails until it happens. But is there a better way to end a beautiful day?

Hope you enjoyed this video and the tips. We certainly had fun making it. Did you know you could have such a beautiful day by the beach in Germany? It’s amazing, actually, when the weather allows, of course. If you’re looking for other places to explore in Germany this summer, you might want to watch my other video about Sankt Peter Ording. Or let us know in the comments where you’d like us to go next?
