슈만이 40세때 작곡된 이 곡은 정말 아쉽게도 슈만 본인은 정작 초연을 듣지 못하고 생을 마감했습니다. 악장 사이사이 박수나 다른 요소들로 인하여 흐름이 끊기길 원치 않았던 슈만은 1, 2, 3악장이 끊김 없이 연주 되도록 작곡하였습니다.
