A knife made from one piece of steel and some jute twine held together with fiberglass resin.
W1 steel is a high carbon steel used in industry, and is suitable for high quality knives. The carbon content on this piece is .91% per manufacturer spec sheet. Some minor additional alloy elements are present, lending a little bit to the grain refinement and hardenability of the steel.
Once the smith work is finished on this knife a piece of material is needed to cover the tang and facilitate a comfortable grip.
