In the first part of our Rural Ecotourism series, we are the guests of @Hayal Tadında Seda and Umut, a couple who migrated from the city to İzmir Birgi Village and make a living from ecological tourism. According to them, it is possible to live a life that respects nature and people on a farm with a 14-acre garden.

Our couple, who set off from İstanbul with two suitcases after the birth of their daughter Hayal and traveled every inch of the Aegean, are actually an engineer and a chemist. While trying to draw a new route for their lives, they find themselves in a green sea in İzmir Ödemiş, in a large olive grove with a stone house. And the whole story begins at this very moment.

For those who are interested in rural ecotourism and want to live in touch with nature, we talked at length with Seda and Umut Soyoğlu @Hayal Tadında about their village migration story, their ecotourism accommodation attempts on a farm in Birgi, the differences between ecotourists and traditional tourists, whether ecotourism is an affordable and cheap holiday, their views on ecological tourism facilities and farm activities, who ecotourism is suitable for, who can open a rural tourism facility, glamping tents, the shepherd house concept, caravaners and tent campers, the interest of domestic and foreign guests in Birgi, we both laughed and thought while talking.

Seda and Umut shared their inspiring village migration story and informative rural ecotourism experiences for you, FarmVanLife subscribers.
