Well, today was quite exciting, to say the least. Earlier this evening, an intense line of severe thunderstorms blew through much of eastern Pennsylvania and northern and central New Jersey. The storms brought widespread wind damage and power outages across much of the region, as well as drenching downpours and a ton of lightning flashes. The storms were associated with a pre-frontal trough out ahead of a cold front that first ignited across south-central PA and then blew eastward, making a bee-line through PA, NJ, the NYC metro, Connecticut and is now currently still going strong across Rhode Island and eventually into Massachusetts. Very hot and humid conditions were allowed to build up all day, bringing in plenty of moisture and instability to fuel these storms, as well as strong wind shear and lapse rates. I wasn't certain if we would get severe-level wind gusts, but boy, did these storms exceed my expectations today. This was probably the most intense storm my town has experienced since July 6, 2021. We had wind gusts up to 60 MPH, maybe even slightly higher than that, which downed several trees and power lines across the town. Miraculously, we never fully lost power, as it only dimmed once, and the only damage at my house was some small twigs downed and a gutter being thrown slightly out of place. Nevertheless, the storm today is definitely one I'll remember for a while.

(Sorry about the excessive amount of language in this video, I just get very excited when stuff like this happens, lol. I'll try to not do it as much in future videos)
