Saturday March 31, 1962 saw the close of the competition that would bring to us the words of our National Anthem. It was composed by the late Rev. and Hon. Hugh Sherlock, OJ, OBE, the late Hon. Robert Lightbourne, OJ, the late Mapletoft Poulle and Mrs. Poulle (now Mrs. Raymond Lindo) in light of our new INDEPENDENCE!

BMH was astonished to learn that there was NO OFFICIAL production of the National Anthem being sung on this platform (up to the date of this upload). We went ahead and commissioned our very own Calynton Blake to make this a reality! Jamaica's National Anthem is beautiful and deserves to be heard by the world!
