Learn how to crochet the Herringbone Half Double Crochet Stitch. This stitch is abbreviated HHDC. It is also the stitch that I used to create the Crochet Lakeside Baby Blanket.

The HHDC produces a dense stitch that is just perfect for crocheting up a warm blanket. I have used this stitch in many projects in combination with other stitches.

STITCHES USED IN THE CROCHET LAKESIDE BABY BLANKET:

CHAIN STITCH (CH): Make a slip knot on your crochet hook. Yarn over (YO), pull yarn through loop on your hook. Chain made. Repeat for the number of CH called for in the pattern.
