Fishing Ferntree Gully Quarry for stocked trout - Ferntree Gully is a beautiful fishing destination that's stocked with trout and native fish. In this episode, I catch 10 stocked rainbow trout yearlings in 90 minutes of fishing from the very scenic Ferntree Gully recreational quarry reserve. It's a beautiful location with breath taking views, active bird life, crystal clear waters and exceptional freshwater fishing.

Victorian fisheries have stocked this system heavily with rainbow trout and recently have also added Murray cod and golden perch. To the already healthy redfin, estuary perch and trout population found. This is all part of the state governments T1M Target 1 Million by 2020 and Target 10 million by 2022.

This video provides some tips and techniques on how to catch trout, how to improve an amazing ecosystem by practicing catch and release, how to rig up and how to choose appropriate gear selection.

There has also been a new fishing platform installed which offers amazing land base fishing.
