The country’s economy has not grown for years and millions of South Africans are without jobs.
Those with jobs have seen very little income growth and bear the responsibility of helping relatives and neighbours with no means of supporting themselves.
The ripple effects of such price hikes can lead to further job losses and business closures, further straining our economy.
