Here's some latest footage, images and updates of the 6J46 Peak Forest - Salford Hope Street derailment that happened above Sidmouth Street in Audenshaw on Friday 6th September 2024. After getting a heads up that the Stricken HYAs were getting re-railed at the start of the week and that Colas Rail Class 56 No. 56090 was to do the honours of moving the wagons towards Crowthorne Junction we were hoping that the operation would take place once we'd finished work but unfortunately it didn't, so the only footage we've manage to capture so far was taken on Thursday evening after work and it involved Volker Rail owned Kirow Crane DRK 81613 attempting to re-rail the remaining HYAs that are still off the tracks. After chatting to the Network Rail staff we've been told that they won't be replacing the bridge, they'll instead be repairing it by reinforcing it by putting in new steel girders and timbers as well as also fixing any other minor faults. With D1015 passing down here on the first Saturday in December we're hoping that everything will be back to normal by then.
