Lake #2 in the series - LAKES OF BENGALURU
Doddakallasandra Lake, Konankunte, Bengaluru
Visiting my second lake (officially recorded by myself) as I embark on a journey to visit every lake in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru, the garden city of India, the silicon valley of India was once a city of 1,000 lakes.
Its a shame we do not have 1000 lakes anymore. However, there are over 100 lakes in Bangalore that are maintained by BBMP, BDA and the forest department. The majority of the lakes are from the 16th century.

The earliest record of the lakes dates back to the 16th century, when the founder of Bangalore—a chieftain known as Kempe Gowda—began constructing artificial tanks for irrigation, fishing and drinking water. Since then, the lakes have been expanded and adapted under the succeeding Mysore Kings and under British colonial rule.
