Here is a fun little editing lesson we recently did to show how the context of a shot or a series of shots can be radically changed with a different beginning, giving the whole piece a very different feel.

Here's the little fantasy we spun while going through this exercise:

Or at least that's what we'd desperately like to see. In reality, this little mash-up of two of our favorite franchises here at RocketSpots.tv began as a father and sons educational editing exercise and kind of got out of hand. In reality, this is a movie we brainstormed around as a family that loves geek culture and just the idea of seeing James Bond and Batman duke it out really got us excited. When we realized we'd need a villain who could unite 007 and the Caped Crusader... a corrupt FBI agent played by Russell Crowe seemed perfect.

As for the title... RED SKY AT KNIGHT... it comes from the rumored title (RED SKY AT NIGHT) of the movie which ended up being SKYFALL. We changed NIGHT to KNIGHT for obvious reasons.

We'll never see this movie in reality... but man it's a great fantasy. And we learned making a mash-up is a hell of an editing lesson, and takes FAR MORE TIME than we expected. This one's one and done for us. Hope you enjoy. We of course don't own any of these movies, characters, etc. We recommend buying them all (as we have) and enjoying them over and over.
