Shootout of the best overhead microphones to use for jazz drums. I’ve used all the best overhead mics for this comparison. Neumann U87ai, Neumann KM184, AKG C414, Oktava MK-012 plus the newer Telefunken M60. I've got top UK drummer@gazhughesmusic in to play us some beats whilst we listen and work out what is the best bang for the buck. We're using the Solid State Logic XL-Desk and printing all the mics without EQ or compression.
