Between February 11th and 18th this year, Lourdes celebrated its 150th anniversary of the moment when Bernadette Soubirous had her first vision of the Holy Virgin.
Since then, the number of pilgrims has steadily increased.
Over 6 million of the faithful and hopeful visit Lourdes every year.
This quiet town of 15,000 residents is the third busiest shrine for Christian pilgrimages in the world after Rome and Guadalupe, Mexico.
A small, Medieval town perched on its "rock" at the foot of the Pyrenees between Spain and France, Lourdes has seen many miracles, not the least of which is its way of adapting to this incredible flow of humanity.
The economic miracle is another: over 300 shops, 250 hotels, 600 tonnes of homemade candles burned every year.
