D.I.Y Rope Halter for horses made easy with our clear step by step instructions!
With easy step by step instructions everyone can follow, in both video and clear pictures. The complex Fiador knot is clearly explained.

Do you want to make a rope halter for your schleich horse? Just use cord with a smaller diameter, and divide the numbers until it is small enough to fit your schleich horse!

The rope halter is used by all of the great natural horsemanship trainers like Clinton Anderson, Warwick Schiller, Pat Parelli, Jonathan Field, Chris Irwin and many more. The advantages of the rope halter are that they are lightweight, small and highly adjustable. The halter helps in training your horse, for they give a little faster response than a regular halter. This is because of the small diameter of the halter, as well as the knots which are located on some nerves on the head.

For this rope halter I used 6 mm thick rope, max 8 mm is advised. You can find this rope mainly in boating stores, they usually carry loads of sizes and colors for decent prices.

Make sure the rope for your rope halter is not too elastic, and that there is no separate core and the rope is thus entirely consisting of braided rope.

This rope halter can be easily transformed into a riding bitless halter by adding rings to the nose band knots. You can then attach your reins to these rings for steering.
