At present, the U.S. military is simultaneously carrying out four hypersonic weapon projects, namely "air-launched rapid response weapon (ARRW)", "hypersonic air-breathing weapon concept (HAWC)", "long-range hypersonic weapon (LRHW)" and "medium-range Rapid Conventional Strike Weapon System (IRCPS)". Each of these projects has its own characteristics.
